A cheap menu item is easy to find. A lunch that still feels like a full meal is harder.

We checked current Burlington restaurant menus, then used recent Google and restaurant reviews to look for inexpensive specials we might have missed. To count here, a lunch had to include a main plus at least one meaningful extra such as rice, naan, a spring roll, soup, salad or a drink. We used the restaurant's advertised price before tax and tip, not delivery-app markups.

Five current menu combinations came in at $10.95 or less.

1. Aroma Kitchen: $8.95

The lowest complete lunch we could verify was Aroma Kitchen's Hakka mixed-vegetable lunch special. The restaurant's current lunch menu lists it at $8.95 with steamed rice, a vegetable spring roll and soup.

Other lunch dishes move into the $9.95 to $11.95 range, so the vegetable special is the price outlier. Aroma Kitchen is at 1401 Plains Rd. E.

2. Hakka Rise & MoMo House: $8.99

Hakka Rise lists several vegetable lunch dishes at $8.99. The lunch includes steamed rice, a vegetable spring roll and a choice of soup or pop.

The restaurant is at 3537 Fairview St. Recent reviews repeatedly mention portion size and price, which is what pushed it onto our research list before the menu confirmed the number.

3. The Bombay Grill: $9.99

The Bombay Grill's vegetable lunch platter is $9.99 and includes mutter paneer, a vegetable samosa, dal, naan and rice. It is the broadest plate we found below $10.

The restaurant is at 3480 Fairview St. Its chicken lunch platter is $11.99, while several other meat and seafood options are $12.99.

4. Burlington Hakka & Momo Hub: $9.99

Burlington Hakka & Momo Hub lists its vegetable lunch dishes at $9.99. They are served with steamed or fried rice and a vegetable spring roll or pop.

The restaurant is at 2388 Fairview St. A current Google business listing has hundreds of reviews, and value and portion size appear repeatedly in the recent feedback. The menu price, rather than the reviews, is what we used for the ranking.

5. Corn Beef Hut: $10.95

Corn Beef Hut's bánh mì salad combo starts at $10.95. It combines a bánh mì with salad and a pop or water.

The downtown shop is at 476 Brant St. A classic bánh mì on its own is cheaper, but we did not count standalone sandwiches because the point of this comparison was a complete lunch.

Two cheap specials we did not rank

Squires Gastro Pub advertises weekday lunch specials starting at $9.95, but its own terms say the special requires the purchase of a drink. Because the final minimum spend depends on the drink, we did not treat $9.95 as the full price.

Happy's Hakka House also surfaced during the review search after a recent customer mentioned a $9.99 lunch special. We could not verify that exact price on a current official menu, so it stays outside the ranked list until we can.

What $11 still buys

The cheapest complete lunches we could verify were concentrated in Hakka and Indian restaurants, where lunch menus bundle a main with rice, bread, soup or a small side. That format makes the comparison much more favourable than ordering those components separately.

Menus change. We checked these prices on August 29, 2026, and restaurants can change specials without notice. If a price moves, email news@burlingtonnews.ca and we will recheck it.
