Burlington’s current schedule calls for the Upper Middle Road Phase One project to move from contract award into watermain installation in fall 2026. The watermain work is expected to continue into spring 2027.
What drivers should expect
The City says lane restrictions will be used during the watermain and surface-restoration phases. Local residents will continue to have access to their homes, but people travelling through the corridor should expect changing work zones.
What comes after the watermain
Surface restoration on the south side is currently planned for spring through summer 2027. That work includes resurfacing, sidewalk installation, median construction and tree planting.
